Validation & Entry Information/Deadlines

VALIDATION REQUIREMENTS

  • All market swine, sheep & goat species must be state validated.
  • All breeding swine, sheep & goat species must be state validated.
  • Steers must be either state validated or county only validated.
  • Breeding heifers must be registered in the exhibitor's name and state validated or show as commercial. 
  • Commercial breeding heifers must be county validated.
  • Longhorn heifers must be registered with the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America. However, they are not required to be registered in the name of the exhibitor. A copy of registration papers must be presented at show check-in.
  • Rabbit meat pens must be county validated
  • Horticulture live plants must be validated.
  • Livestock validation tags must be ordered through 4-H Extension Agent or Ag Teacher. Be sure to check with your Extension Agent or Ag teacher on tag order deadlines, which will be earlier than validation deadline dates.


VALIDATION DATES

  1. Steers & Heifers - October 29, 4-7 pm @ Schumacher Farm, Era, TX
  2. Sheep & Goats - October 15 & 23, 5-7 pm @ Gainesville ISD Ag Barn
  3. Swine - TBD in November - check with ag teacher or county agent
  4. Rabbit Meat Pens - December 16, 6 pm @ Cooke County Fairgrounds
  5. Horticulture (live plants) - November 4, 6:00 pm @ Cooke County Farigrounds


BROILER ORDER DEADLINE

All broiler entries must come from one (1) county order. Each exhibitor must purchase a minimum of 25 birds. Order deadline is October 2, 2024. One check must accompany the FFA chapter or 4-H order. Make checks payable to "Valley View FFA". Ordering chicks DOES NOT enter the exhibitor in the junior livestock show. Entries must be made separately. No refunds will be made on chick orders. All orders must be placed through the County 4-H Extension Agent for 4-H members or Ag Teachers for FFA members.


ENTRY DEADLINES

Entries must be submitted online through the ShoWorks link.

Deadline to enter is November 15, 2024 for 2025 show.

$20 per entry     Market/Breeding Sheep & Swine, Market/Breeding/Dairy Goats, Steers, Breeding Heifers, Commercial Heifers and Longhorn Heifers

$12 per class     Equine

$20 per entry     Market Poultry, Market Rabbits, Shop

$8 per entry     FCS

$5 per entry     Breeding Poultry, Breeding Rabbits

$10 per entry   Horticulture


LATE ENTRIES

Late entries for an amount of three (3) times the entry fee will be accepted between November 16 - November 22 for 2025 show, through the online entry portal link on our website.. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE LATE ENTRY DEADLINE, NO EXCEPTIONS.

ALL ENTRIES, ON TIME OR LATE, ARE NONREFUNDABLE. NO EXCEPTIONS.
