FCS/HORTICULTURE SHOW CHANGES

ALL PROJECTS MUST BE CHECK IN BY NOON ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 10 SHOW BEGINS AT 1:00 PM FRIDAY, JANUARY 10.
SWINE
UPDATE, SWINE CLASSES ARE POSTED. CLICK ON "Swine" above for link to classes. Swine Show start time has been moved back to 10:00 am on Thursday, January 9. FOR ANIMAL WELFARE REASONS: If you have the ability, pigs will be permitted to stall on trailers overnight AFTER WEIGH IN on Wednesday night, January 8. ANIMALS MUST BE BACK IN ASSIGNED STALL SPACE BY 8:00 AM THURSDAY MORNING. ANY PIGS ON TRAILERS AFTER THIS TIME ARE SUBJECT TO DISQUALIFICATION.

Board Members
The show is governed by a board of directors who annually elect a General Superintendent, Assistant General Superintendent, Secretary/Treasurer. Directors include Ag Science Teachers, FCCLA Advisors, County Extension Agents and one representative from each school/agency/community. One additional director representing each division of the show are: Beef, Goats, Poultry, Sheep, Equine, Dairy Cattle, Rabbits, Swine, Shop & FCS.

See map below for reference. Animal access will be limited to the North and South roll up doors on the west side of the show barn.
BEDDING RULES:
- Only large flake shavings provided by the show are allowed.
- NO SHAVINGS ON DIRT - ONLY TURF OR CARPET ALLOWED ON DIRT.
- 1 complimentary bag of shavings per pen will be provided. Extra bags will be sold for $8 per bag.
- Weigh-in time begins at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Weigh In Order - 4H Sharpshooters, Valley View, Muenster, Lindsay, Gainesville, Era, Callisburg. Scales will be located at the Southwest corner of the show barn.
- Stalling Assignments are posted below
- Back tag exhibitor entry numbers will be issued at check-in.
- Show starts at 10:00 am Show order will be: Breeding Swine followed by Market Swine.

Show Order: Dairy Heifers, Steers, Beef Heifers, Longhorn Heifers
Wednesday, January 8, 2025
All broilers and breeding poultry must check-in with show superintendent.
Broilers followed by Breeding
Show order: Breeding Lambs, Market Lambs, Breeding Goats, Market Goats
All FCS and Horticulture show entries must be checked in for judging on Thursday.
Swine will not be permitted to enter the barn until the conclusion of the goat show or 4:00 pm, which ever occurs first.
Entries have the option of moving into the barn Wednesday, January 8, due to weather conditions on Thursday.

All Ag Mechanics/Shop Entries must be in checked in by 7:00 pm.
Please check with your ag teacher or 4-H extension agent if you are unable to check-in by this time.

Grade Horse Papers
All equine entries are required to provide copies of registration papers or grade horse description papers. Select the link above to access and print a copy of this form.
Substitute Exhibitor Request Form
Exhibitor Substitution
All eligible exhibitors of the Cooke County Jr. Livestock Show are REQUIRED to show and sell their own animal or project. If an exhibitor cannot exhibit or sell, it is the responsibility of the 4-H Extension Agent, Ag Teacher or FCS Teacher to submit a SIGNED and COMPLETED substitute exhibitor request form. This form must be turned in at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled show or sale date. Failure to do so may result in denial of request and disqualification from the show.

2025 Scholarship Application deadline has closed.
Premium sale
Sale will begin at NOON on Saturday, January 11, 2025. Buyers must register for a bidder number prior to the sale. Complementary lunch will be served at 11:00 am for all registered buyers. Buyer Registration will open at 10:00 am at the Southeast end of the show barn. Look for registration tables near the show office. Volunteers will be available to help buyers with registration and any questions. Payments are due 30 days from date of sale unless other arrangements have been made.
